#1 Song One Year Ago: Ed Sheeran - Shape Of You (3rd Of 9 Weeks At #1)

Biggest Drop: Dua Lipa - New Rules (-11)

Biggest Jump: *TIE* AJR/Rivers Cuomo - Sober Up & Zedd/Maren Morris/Grey - The Middle (+13)

New Entrants:
- So, I have been enjoying Sick Boy, but I kinda overhyped my opinion. I really like this song, but this is not as good as any of their previous works like Closer, and Something Just Like This. I already went on a rant about them on the last post, but i wish they went back to collaborating with other artists. Those were the songs I really liked a lot. However, I hope Sick Boy does good on the countdown and I like the message the song is bringing.

- So, I knew this was going to debut the next week it debuted Hit-Bound. I really am enjoying this song, and I am actually going to see Black Panther today as I am writing this. I like what Kendrick Lamar has to give and I am glad that Hits1 did not edit him out. Then again, if they did, this would be a different song. I also listened to the Black Panther album and I really like it. One favorite of mine is All The Stars by Kendrick Lamar with SZA. I don't know if I will do a album review, but if I have more free time then maybe. This song should have some success since it is doing really good.

Hit-Bound:

  • Portugal. The Man - Live In The Moment
  • Marshmello/Anne-Marie - Friends (DEBUT)
  • Keala - This Is Me
  • 30 Seconds To Mars - Walk On Water (DEBUT)
  • Post Malone/Ty Dolla $ign - Psycho (DEBUT)
  • Kesha/Dap-Kings Horns - Woman
  • Rudimental/Jess Glynne/Macklemore/Dan Caplen - These Days
  • Welshy Arms - Legendary
  • Khalid - Young Dumb & Broke
  • Bazzi - Mine (DEBUT)
  • Wild Things - Don't Wanna Feel It
  • Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes
  • Niall Horan - On The Loose
  • Alan Walker/Noah Cyrus/Digital Farm Animals - All Falls Down
- I thank Hits1 for bringing Marshmello back. I really like this song and Anne-Marie's vocals are nice. Walk On Water I hear all the time on college football for some reason. Psycho is amazing, and I think it is better than Rockstar. Mine is a guilty pleasure of mine and I am not proud about it...

Top 5:
1. Post Malone/Ty Dolla $ign - Psycho
2. Khalid - Young Dumb & Broke
3. Bazzi - Mine
4. 30 Seconds To Mars - Walk On Water
5. Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes

Blurbs:

- One of our exits will be missed and the other will not. Even though ...Ready For It? is in blue, I will remember this song and will most likely grow back into the song. Niall Horan needs to find something that is actually good. On The Loose is actually worse than this though.

- I am very surprised Theres Nothing Holdin' Me Back is still on the countdown, but that is one of Hits1's favorite songs so I am not surprised. I will never grow back into this song and I don't even know why I even liked this song in the start. I never really liked Shawn Mendes in the first place, but I did kinda like Mercy and "Betta Than He Can!" was actually trash.

- So... out of all the songs that debuted last week, of course AJR's song had to jump the most. Who actually likes AJR. Who even is a AJR fan... probably a few people though. I am still waiting for an AJR song that is actually good, but that day will never come...

- So were letting a Stay rip-off jump into the top 10. Seriously? Zedd's lazy production made this song in red, and Maren Morris ain't saving this song. I don't even know why Grey is credited, cause I don't know what he does, so someone can tell me.

- Thank you for Good Old Days for dethroning a terrible song. I kinda want this to stay since this is the best song in the top 5 actually. I am also surprised that Let Me Go has not hit #1 yet...

3. Imagine Draogns - Thunder (#2) [5 Weeks At #1]
2. Halsey - Bad At Love (#5) [2 Weeks At #1]
1. Charlie Puth - How Long (#1) [2nd Stupid Week At #1]

#1 Song One Year Ago: Ed Sheeran - Shape Of You (2nd Of 9 Weeks At #1)

Biggest Drop: TIE between Eminem/Ed Sheeran - River, Camila Cabello - Never Be The Same, & Lauv - I Like Me Better (-5)

Biggest Jump: NF - Let You Down (+8)

New Entrants:
- I'll be honest, Filthy has been fading on me recently partially because of his halftime show. I really like Say Something and I think it is better than Filthy. I do not plan to listen to his recent album, since I might do a review on the Black Panther Album. Say Something will probably do better than Filthy on the Weeknd Countdown, and most likely the Billboard Hot 100.

- The last song I heard from Troye Sivan was Youth, and I thought it was only decent. This is also decent, but I will say that Youth is better than this. I just have a problem with the "oh my my my!" part. Other than that, I guess it is ok. This is most likely going to fade on me, but I guess I don't care if this is as successful as Youth, Weekend Countdown wise.

- Finally, we have more AJR... great. These guys honestly should just retire or something that has to do with not making bad music anymore. Their vocals are so bad and the "hello hello" part is really awkward. I do not want to talk about these guys anymore and I don't know who Rivers Cuomo is, but I feel bad for him falling into the AJR bait.

Hitbound:

  • Kesha/Dap-Kings Horns - Woman
  • Alan Walker/Noah Cyrus/Digital Farm Animals - All Falls Down
  • Welshy Arms - Legendary
  • Niall Horan - On The Loose (DEBUT)
  • Khalid - Young Dumb, & Broke
  • Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes
  • Clean Bandit/Julia Michaels - I Miss You
  • Wild Things - Don't Wanna Feel It
  • The Weeknd/Kendrick Lamar - Pray For Me (DEBUT)
  • Spencer - Whatever
  • Keala Settle - This Is Me
  • Post Malone - I Fall Apart
  • Rudimental/Macklemore/Jess Glynne/Dan Caplen - These Days (DEBUT)
  • Portugal. The Man - Live In The Moment
- I got to give it to Niall Horan for actually trying something new, unlike the other One Direction members, but this is actually worse. Just like Love On The Brain, his approach is just not that good. But, I like how he is trying something new.

- I LOVE THIS SONG! I am so glad that they did not edit Kendrick Lamar out. So far, my favorite song of 2018 and this is partially why I listened to the Plack Panther album. A lot more when it debuts...

- I don't know what to say on These Days other than Dan Caplen's vocals are really good and the drop is cool I guess.

- So... Sick Boy left. If I'm being honest, The Chainsmokers have been disappointing me. As a big fan of them, I expected more from them. I kind overreacted on Sick Boy. It's good, but not top 10 Chainsmokers song all time. Then they released You Owe Me. Really not that good. Honestly, now that I think about it, I really loved them when they had a collaboration. And I know your going to say, "What about Paris". That was technically a collaboration with Emily Warren, but they did not credit her for some odd reason. All I am trying to say is that if they keep this up, then they will end up like Luis Fonsi, who will never get another hit EVER again.

Top 5:
1. The Weeknd/Kendrick Lamar - Pray For Me
2. Khalid - Young Dumb, & Broke
3. Post Malone - I Fall Apart
4. Kesha/Dap-Kings Horns - Woman
5. Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes

Blurbs:

- I don't really care about the exits so lets move on...

- Just because ...Ready For It? and Too God At Goodbyes are in blue, that doesn't mean I will not like them again. They are just fading on me and I will eventually grow back into them later on.

- Now lets talk Meant To Be. I have been really enjoying this song recently. Florida George Line's vocals have been really growing on me, and I like the last part of the song. This song will most likely stay in green unless I put it in dark blue.

- Our top 10 is perfect except for the top 2 songs. One is fading on me and the other is just flat out terrible and I don't want to see this song hit #1 for the third time.

- Sorry for the lack of blurbs...

Top 45:

1. Finesse
2. River
3. Him & I

Charlie Puth (1) - February 10, 2018

I am going to try to do this by my self for now on. I think that I have been caught up with everything except for the year-end stuff, which I can do anytime this month. I am also removing dark purple cause I actually don't see the point with the top 45 in place. I am also adding a score for the top 45. So, I guess I'll say welcome back me and I am officially going to do the countdowns myself! There are no exits, so lets get on with the countdown!

Biggest Drop: Kelly Clarkson - Love So Soft (-14)

Biggest Jump: Zedd/Maren Morris/Grey - The Middle (+16)

New Entrants:

None...

Hitbound:

  • Welshy Arms - Legendary
  • Kesha/Dap-Kings Horns - Woman
  • Post Malone - I Fall Apart
  • The Chainsmokers - Sick Boy
  • Troye Sivan - My My My!
  • Alan Walker/Noah Cyrus/Digital Farm Animals - All Falls Down
  • Wild Things - Don't Wanna Feel It
  • Spencer - Whatever
  • Portugal. The Man - Live In The Moment
  • Khalid - Young Dumb & Broke (DEBUT)
  • Kaela Settle - This Is Me (DEBUT)
  • Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes
  • AJR/Rivers Cuomo - Sober Up
  • Clean Bandit/Julia Michaels - I Miss You
- After a very long time, Hits1 picks up on of the most underrated artists of 2017. I loved Location, but I think this is better. I can't really explain why this is so good for some reason... more on it when it debuts maybe.

- Why the hell are we bringing songs from The Greatest Showman. Yeah, the vocals are fine, but everything else is atrocious. The transitioning to those high pitch vocals are all really bad. This is just disappointing.

Top 5:
1. The Chainsmokers - Sick Boy
2. Khaild - Young Dumb & Broke
3. Kesha/Dap-Kings Horns - Woman
4. Post Malone - I Fall Apart
5. Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes

Blurbs:
- No exits...

- I am still happy that Sorry Not Sorry and What Lovers Do is still on here. They are very good songs that will be favorites of mine from 2017. But we still have Theres Nothing Holdin' Me Back and Galway Girl. Trash...

- I am very surprised that Rockstar got so high up on the countdown. Especially when you don't even cut out 21 Savage, but you cut out Quavo and Lil Wayne from I'm The One. They don't even bother putting any Kendrick Lamar singles, and rap songs that are really popular.

- I have been really liking Finesse a lot, and I am very happy that Hits1 did not cut out Cardi B. In my opinion, her part is better than Bruno Mars'. I hope this can get to the top 10, or even the top 5.

- And The Middle jumps. That is great. I am not going to listen to Zedd if he comes out with another song that is a Stay 3.0 and I think he probably will sadly. Just go back to when you made Stay The Night, or Clarity.

- End Game drops really hard from #1. I really still like this song a lot. And I think this is better than ...Ready For It?. That being said,if this can hit #1, then why didn't Look What You Made Me Do hit #1, when it debuted at #13! Hits1 logic...

- How is Beautiful Trauma, Ahead Of Myself, and On Foot in the top 10. I'm not complaining about two of them, but one of them should not be here on its 3rd week I think.

- And hitting #1 is a very plain and bland song. Charlie Puth's music was never that amazing in the first place. His best song yet is See You Again, which is in my opinion the best song of 2015 and a contender for being the best of the decade. Everything else was decent I guess. Charlie Puth, I hope that you can bring some excitement in your songs.

New Entrants (shortened):
- All Time Low haven't made anything amazing in my opinion. This is like Good Times, in terms of my liking. It is decent. I don't know what else to say. My opinion had not changed on The Middle but I am slightly disliking this song whenever I hear Zedd's laziness in this song. But, when Marren Morris comes in, that is saving the song from red.

Sorry about the lack of blurbs. I really want to get my posts out today.

So... Super Bowl LII

Background
- If you already did not know, I am a Patriots fan, and I have been one since I first knew about the team. In my opinion and pretty much everyone else's at my school, Tom Brady is the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time). And I am not saying that because he plays for the New England Patriots. I am saying that because he can do a lot of amazing things. He can turn the score around when there is only 2 minutes left. I think you can already think of an example of him doing that. That's right, Super Bowl LI (51). Down 28-3, Brady wasn't ready to call it quits. He motivated himself and his other teammates. And just like that, The Patriots and Falcons are in overtime. James White scores the touchdown and the game is over. Keep in mind, Rob Gronkowski was not playing. That was Brady's best target. The GOAT doesn't always mean that you have to win all the time. You can lose and still become the GOAT if you prove yourself. When your receiver is injured an you make the best comeback in super bowl history, that is GOAT type. All I wanted you to get from this is what my perspective is from Super Bowl LII (52).

The Super Bowl LII
- So, as most of you know, the New England Patriots lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 41-33. Well, let me just say that the Eagles did not deserve to win that game. Now, I know I am just complaining about this and making excuses, but say that your favorite team that you love and respect lost to another team that got the favored calls. So let me express my point as in my the Patriots deserved to win this game. Here are some of my points

Patriots Deffense
- Now this is the only excuse that is not toward the Eagles, but this one was the most important one. The defense was definitely not playing at their best level, I will admit. The only thing that was weirs was this. Why was Malcolm Butler benched. Remind me what he did at the last moment in Super Bowl XLIX (49). He freaking intercepted the football, and I still don't get why didn't Russell Wilson run the football. Anyways, Too many open looks at 3rd down, and they had so many tried tackles at Nick Foles (QB), but they failed. Overall, the defense was just pretty sloppy. Although the Defense was very important, there were also other points that changed the game

The Two Eagles Touchdowns That Were Under Review
- this was also very important. These two touchdowns were very contreversial.

Controversial Touchdown #1: Corey Clement (RB) 22 Yd Pass from Nick Foles (QB)

- As you can see from the link above that is the touchdown. As soon as he catches it, he takes a step, which is still considered as him being a receiver. Then he starts to lose control and steps out of bounds with his left foot. This is considered incomplete. When you start to lose control, if you step out of bounds, then that is considered incomplete. He did not not enough steps when he had control of the football.

Controversial Touchdown #2: Zach Ertz (TE) 11Yd Pass from Nick Foles (QB)

- This one seems like a touchdown, but there was a situation similar to this where it was overturned. I was expecting this to overruled, but I was surprised. They said that he was a "runner", but he took only 2 steps. That does not mean he was a "runner".

The "Under Dogs"
- Lets be honest, when underdogs go this far they rarely lose. I mean they are some occasions where they lose like Super Bowl XLIX (49) when the Seahawks were considered underdogs. I mean Nick Foles (QB) was probably practicing so hard. I don't know what else to say.

Okay I am done with my rant. There is just one more thing I want to review...

Halftime Show featuring Justin Timberlake
- I'll be honest, some people may not agree with me on the rant above, but a lot can agree with the Halftime Performance. This Halftime Show was crap. I have no idea what he was doing. Each song he sang was literally for like thirty seconds and he already had controversy over his last Super Bowl Halftime Show, Super Bowl XXXVIII (38), in 2004, which by the way the New England Patriots won that Super Bowl against the Carolina Panthers (Score was 32-29). Also, that performance tributing Prince was really bad. The transitions looked like a 5 year-old did them and the whole performance just looked lazy. And I will say this. These Halftime Performances are becoming worse and worse. I will rate the last 5 of them to show my opinion on the past too.

  • Super Bowl XLVIII (48) featuring Bruno Mars - 7.5/10
  • Super Bowl XLIX (49) featuring Katy Perry - 8.5/10 (would've been 8, but those sharks though :P)
  • Super Bowl L (50) featuring Coldplay/Bruno Mars/Beyonce - 9.5/10
  • Super Bowl LI (51) featuring Lady Gaga - 3/10
  • Super Bowl LII (52) featuring Justin Timberlake - 0/10
So, thats all for the Super Bowl review. I pretty much explained everything that I wanted to say. My Weekend Countdown post will be out tomorrow, so be on the look out for that.

Have a Nice Day!
- A New England Patriots Fan
