2017 Year End Post #1: My Bottom 10 Songs Of 2017

Hey! So, this is only the beginning of the year end posts. Now the bad songs were not as bad as a expected. We got pretty bad songs, and some were sadly having success on certain chart. However, I can say that this year was much better compared to 2016. Although 2017 had lots of rap songs, 2016 had horrible pop songs and a kid who can't even sing. Overall, 2017 had a lot less bad songs than 2016. Enough said, here is the list!

RULES: 1. Any song is allowed, as long as it has been on billboard Hot 100 and peaked at least at #50. All Weekend Countdown songs are allowed too. This is so that songs that no one knows isn't on the list. Also I only do 5 Dishonarable Mentions because IDK, I guess its my rule?

Now on to the list!

10. The Revivalists - Wish I Knew You
- To start off everything is a song that is not my taste. The persons voice just sounds plain awful, especially when they say "Wish I Knew You". In addition, the chorus is just so plain and nothing interesting is happening. Also, the saxophone sounds really terrible with this kind of song. I have never heard these guys before I listened to this song. From what I can tell, I don't think I will like any of their music. Let me just say this. The first time I listened to this song, I thought it was country. That says a lot about my liking of this song. Overall, a really bad song and deserves to be in the bottom 10. NEXT!

9. Hey Violet - Guys My Age
- So far, the weekend countdown has had three Hey Violet songs. Guys My Age was up first. It was a flop and I was happy. Now, this song has nothing unique in it. In addition, the chorus is really terrible and the vocals pretty much puts the icing on the top for the reason why this is bad. The next song I here from this group, I will definitely have low hopes for the song, because of this song. NEXT UP!

8. AJR - Weak
- So, lets go back in time and look at what accomplishments AJR has had. A while ago I posted my 1K Pageview Special. That post had another AJR song called I'm Ready. I will say that I'm Ready is MUCH worse than Weak. However, that doesn't make Weak a not so bad song. The repetition gets really annoying and the vocals are really terrible. So far, all the AJR songs that I have heard are all terrible. I have no faith in these guys, and hope that they can figure out a way to make a actual okay song...

7. Charli XCX - After The Afterparty
- So, we have a song that would actually be pretty average if Hits1 kept Lil Yachty. Yup, I actually just said that. Her voice is really bad and the overall production is really bad. I really liked the old Charli XCX, when she made Fancy, and Boom Clap. Now, we have this and Boys, both terrible songs but this one is much worse. Overall, terrible, NEXT!

6. Fifth Harmony/Gucci Mane - Down
- Do I really need to explain this. This is the Fifth Harmony without Camila Cabello. Sadly, Gucci Mane cannot save this song. Honestly, I don't know what else you want about this song. This was also a BIG flop, and I'm glad it was. So far, Hits1 has not picked up on Fifth Harmony song after Camila Cabello left. That says a lot about Hits1...

5. Evaride - Heartless
- Yup...I bet you were expecting this song being on here. Look, sometimes when Hits1 picks up on random songs, they are pretty good. One example is Save Me A Place. That song actually did pretty good on the countdown, peaking at #6. But, you have other random songs, like Heartless, that fortunately flop. This song is very generic for its genre and the instrumentals are not that good. Overall, very happy it flopped, but mad that it debuted the countdown...NEXT!

4. Julia Michaels - Issues
- Okay, I'm expecting this song to be on a lot of peoples bottom lists. Julia Michaels voice literally KILLS this song. The very first time I heard it, I thought to myself, "If only it had a better voice". Everything about that song was really bad, and I really wan't clarify that. Hits1 better not pick up on some more Julia Michaels or they will be hearing from a lot of people I ensure you. Overall, Julia Michaels=TRASH! NEXT!

3. Sam Hunt - Body Like A Back Road
- So, the song that is probably on a lot of peoples bottom 3 most likely. I will be honest, there are two other songs that are barely worse than this. I could've put any of these 3 songs at the #1 place. So, Sam Hunt, don't be happy that you finally saw a list with your song not being the #1 WORST song. Pretty, the whole song is trash and that chorus is TERRIBLE. This actually broke the record for most weeks at #1 on the Billboard Country Chart. That's sad if you ask me, or pretty much anyone else in the world.

2. Rihanna - Love On The Brain
- My Mom actually likes this song A LOT. So much that she probably would put it in her top 10 of 2017. Me on the other hand would put this either at #3, #2, or #1, as said above in the #3 blurb. This is definitely not the Rihanna we know and love. 2016 and 2017 was not her year. From This is What You Came For to this. Her high pitch voice in this song is just really bad, and the whole song in general in underwhelming and just seems like there was not any effort put into it. I really hope we get the old Rihanna back. I do have hope because of Wild Thoughts so I am waiting...

Before we get to the #1 WORST SONG of 2017 here are some Dishonorable Meantions...

Dishonorable Mention #1: Harry Styles - Two Ghosts
- I thought Harry Styles was going to be a good solo artist after Sign Of The Times, but we got a 80's kind of style for the rest of his songs? That genre is just not my type. Sorry if I pissed anyone off there...

Dishonorable Mention #2: Rae Sremmurd - Swang
- I liked Black Beatles a lot, but there follow-up was pretty bad. There high pitch voice is just... WHY? Other than that, everything is pretty bad if you ask me. Well done... well done...

Dishonorable Mention #3: The Shawdowboxers - Hot Damn
- This would have made it on the list if it came out earlier. I told you guys, just like Heartless, bringing out random songs are really bad for the countdown. "The 45 Biggest Hits In North America" is a complete LIE.

Dishonorable Mention #4: Hey Voliet - Break My Heart
- Yup, there back. yelling "Break My Heart" is really not that good and is not going to make the song better or even decent. Everything else is really bland and not interesting...

Dishonorable Mention #5: Childish Gambino - Redbone
- I have one word for this song. CREEPY! You can also put Mysterious (In a bad way), Weird (In a bad way), are anything that you would describe an alien. Seriously, this song is just all of the place in a very bad place. And after listening to this song several times, you realize that its not any of those adjectives that you would you to describe an alien. It is just boring...

Are you ready for the #1 WORST SONG of 2017? Some of you probably already figured it out after #2, but some may have figured it out from the start. Here it is...

1. Julia Michaels - Uh Huh
- Come to think of it, who actually thought that this was going to be a good song. Especially when you have a girl moaning "UH HUH" several times and each time it gets more moaningful, if thats even a word. Yeah Julia Michaels, we get what your trying to say. We all knew what it about when we saw the title itself. I actually think that Hits1 was drunk when they chose this to be on Hitbound. Who ACTUALLY thought that this would be the better choice than some other popular and good songs. I really want to forget this song in the future, but when a song is the worst song of the year, you know you will remember the song for a VERY long time sadly. I honestly hope that Julia Michaels doesn't release anymore solo music. We all saw how good Issues did, and we are thankful that Uh Huh didn't do the same thing...

So that is about it. Stay tuned for the next Year End post, Hitbound Dropouts and #1's of 2017. See ya next time!

Biggest Drop: Demi Lovato - Sorry Not Sorry (-19)

Biggest Jump: Macklemore/Kesha - Good Old Days (+11)

New Entrants:
- Out of all of our debuts, you can say that 3 are follow-ups from their big hits. Except, One Foot is like 1 year after there big hit. All of these songs are pretty good but not as good as their predecessors. There is one more song that is left. When I first heard that Eminem was going to collab with Ed Sheeran, I thought it was going to be bad. It is actually alright. This is not as good as Walk On Water, but it is pretty solid.

Hitbound:

  • Sofi Tukker – Best Friend
  • Fall Out Boy – Hold Me Tight Or Don't
  • Spencer – Whatever
  • NF – Let You Down (DEBUT)
  • Imagine Dragons – Whatever It Takes
  • Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran/Future – End Game
  • AJR/Rivers Cuomo – Sober Up
  • P!nk – Beautiful Trauma
  • Alan Walker/Noah Cyrus/Digital Farm Animals – All Falls Down (DEBUT)
  • Clean Bandit/Julia Michaels – I Miss You
  • Wolves – Animal
  • G-Eazy/Halsey – Him & I (DEBUT)
  • Camila Cabello – Never Be The Same (DEBUT)
  • All Time Low – Last Young Renegade

-So, I was waiting for this song to come. I really like the meaning of this song and surprisingly the weird voice in the beginning doesn't annoy me!

- I think this is the only time that I will like a song with Noah Cyrus in it this much. My favorite part of this song is that amazing drop from Alan Walker. I really like these underdogs that show off their skills, kinda like Marshmello. Overall, a really good song.

- Yay! My recommendation is on Hitbound. So, I think G-Eazy and Halsey are a cute couple, and they sound really good together. More when it debuts.

- So, I think this is a guilty pleasure of mine. I am very surprised to like this song. Heck, I feel like that I am growing into this song!

Top 5:
1. Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran/Future - End Game
2. G-Eazy/Halsey - Him & I
3. Alan Walker/Noah Cyrus/Digital Farm Animals - All Falls Down
4. NF - Let Me Down
5. Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes

Camila Cabello (1) - December 16, 2017

The year is slowly ending and I can't wait for what 2018 brings us. Also, I have made my decision on my top 45 songs of 2017. Now I just have to write an explanation for all of them which will take a very long time. Anyways, here are the exits this week!

  • Mono Mind - Save Me A Place (#42)

13. Niall Horan - Too Much To Ask (#23) [...]
12. Kesha - Praying (#16)
11. Charlie Puth - How Long (#14) [WHY?]
10. Demi Lovato - Sorry Not Sorry (#8) [1 Week]
9. Maroon 5/SZA - What Lovers Do (#11)
8. Kelly Clarkson - Love So Soft (#5)
7. Ed Sheeran - Galway Girl (#7) [4 Weeks]

4. Imagine Dragons - Thunder (#4) [2 Weeks]
3. Halsey - Bad At Love (#1) [1 Week]
2. Ed Sheeran - Perfect (#2)
1. Camila Cabello - Havana (#3) [1st Week]

#1 Song One Year Ago: Hailee Steinfeld/Grey/Zedd - Starving (1st Of 4 Weeks)

Biggest Drop: Macklemore/Skylar Grey - Glorious (-20)

Biggest Jump: Zayn/Sia - Dusk Till Dawn (+13)

New Entrants:
- So, I really don't have much to say about this song. This is only decent, because her vocals aren't as good, but they are tolerable. The whole song is supposed to sound sad, and I guess the title suites the whole song, but it just seems under produced. However, I can say that this is better than Say by a margin. I have this feeling that Lonely Girl will jump into the top 20, which I wouldn't mind completely.

- After that drop from Glorious, Good Old Days has to step in. Although it is in dark purple, it is not as good as Glorious. Yes, that may seem weird, but I mean OVERALL better. The song has a good meaning and Kesha's voice is really good. I hope this song does really good on the countdown. It probably won't do better than Glorious, but I hope it can peak at a reasonable spot.

Hitbound:

  • AJR/Rivers Cuomo – Sober Up
  • Bruno Mars – Chunky
  • Louis Tomlinson – Miss You
  • Clean Bandit/Julia Michaels – I Miss You
  • All Time Low – Last Young Renegade (DEBUT)
  • Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran/Future – End Game
  • Walk The Moon – One Foot
  • Wolves – Animal
  • Sofi Tukker – Best Friend
  • Liam Payne – Bedroom Floor
  • P!nk – Beautiful Trauma
  • Fall Out Boy – Hold Me Tight Or Don't
  • Spencer – Whatever
  • Imagine Dragons – Whatever It Takes
- So, Hits1 really must like All Time Low. I can say that this is WAY better than Good Times, which I have grown out of and it is better than Missing You. But, it is definitely not amazing.

- I have SLIGHTLY grown into Miss You, which is why it isn't in orange. But, its still enough to be crap.

Top 5:
1. Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran/Future - End Game
2. Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes
3. Bruno Mars - Chunky
4. Walk The Moon - One Foot
5. P!nk - Beautiful Trama

Good Old Blurbs:

- I think everyone will be sad about at least one of the exits. Save Me A Place was one of those random songs that Hits1 picks up on. Out of all of those songs, Save Me A Place was the best one. Though I will probably forget this song sadly within the next year. Now we move on to the song that everyone really liked. This one will hit me very hard, and it will definitely be missed very much by a lot of people. When I first heard of this collaboration, I thought it would be bad, but look where it is now. It is #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 year end chart and literally everyone in the blogging community loved this song. Something Just Like This, you will be missed.

- So, this actually looks like the end for Taylor Swift, especially Look What You Made Me Do. I am actually the only person who is still putting Look What You Made Me Do in purple. And surprisingly, I don't consider this one of Taylor Swift's top 10 best songs. It would probably be #11. Who actually still thinks this is the best song on the countdown besides me. I feel lonely... :(

- Luckily, Hot Damn and Theres Nothing Holdin' Me Back dropped. However, Glorious dropped out of the top 20 harshly. I mean, I don't think it has the ability to rebound anymore. Only No Promises can do that non-stop.

- Our top 20 just seems to get worse. Entering the top 20 is New Rules, and Too Much To Ask. The former I have grown out of a lot, and the latter I have grown into SLIGHTLY like Miss You. Both however I am not happy entered the top 20.

- Re-entering the top 10 is What Lovers Do. This is going to back and forth and I hope it can stay in the top 15 for a little bit more. I am really enjoying this song, but Look What You Made Me Do is blocking it from being in purple for me.

- Re-entering the top 10 and top 5 is ...Ready For It?. Although I want to see this hit #1, it would just feel too weird. What I mean is that if ...Ready For It? hit #1, then shouldn't Look What You Made Me Do hit #1? I don't know, but I will be happy if it hits #1.

- Hitting #1 is a expected song. The reason why it is blue is because I am going to be grading songs by how Hits1 plays them. Which means without Young Thug, Havana will be blue

Sorry for the lack of blurbs. This is out late and nothing really exciting happened.

Blurbs:

- So if you didn't know, every year, Youtube comes out with a video called "Youtube Rewind". It's basically a year in review for youtube. The 2017 Youtube Rewind had a couple of songs in the background. The songs consisted of Despacito (ORIGINAL), Humble., Shape Of You, Stay, and I'm The One. All really popular songs.

- So, this looks like its over for Taylor Swift this year. I was really expecting this to do so much better after debuting at #13. Also, if you look at the Purple/Orange Squad, you will see Look What You Made Me Do with 15 Weeks in purple. At this point, there is no competition, so it might beat Something Just Like This

- Why is Body Like A Back Road jumping 10+ spots all of a sudden? Again, who actually likes this song. I really never liked country in the first place, so me being mad at this doesn't shock me at all.

- Ok, something is definitely wrong. Rockstar is now out of the top 20. To be honest, looking at how successful other rap songs were, this does not surprise me. It is probably going to leave in a week or two sadly.

- Then we have the worst song on the countdown jump almost to the top 20. Why is this that high on the countdown. I am 74% for this song is going to hit the top 20 next week, which is really sad.

- When I said "I Dare You!" as a comment to Shawn Mendes going to #21, that doesn't mean you actually let him get back into the top 20. This song is so old, and I don't know why it is even still on the countdown this high.

- We only had a re-entry in the top 10. Let Me Go has been actually growing on me a lot now, but not enough to let it be in the top 10. However, I wouldn't mind this song in the top 5 in the future.

- Our top 5 entrance is from Kelly Clarkson. I mean, if this song hits #1, which it will most likely not, then it will most likely be in red for me. I have seen Kelly Clarkson to much better, like Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)

- Our #1 is kinda unexpected. I thought Havana, or Thunder would take. I can say that this is definitely not #1 material. I hope it only stays at #1 for one week only.

Biggest Drop!: Cheat Codes/Demi Lovato - No Promises (-14)

Biggest Jump!: Post Malone/21 Savage - Rockstar (+17)

New Entrants:
- So Harry Styles is back with a bad song, again! The problem with him is that he always does the same thing over and over again, and if I don't like his way in direction, then I won't like any of his songs 90% of the time. The only exception is Sign Of The Times, which was really good. Overall, same as Two Ghosts and will probably not be doing that good on the countdown.

- So far, I have only heard three X Ambassador Songs. Renegades, Unsteady, and Ahead Of Myself. Let's review all of them! Renegades is easily the best out of the three, which means it's my favorite X Ambassador song. Ahead Of Myself is next in the line. However, it is nowhere near as good as Renegades. But, at least it's better than that piece of crap yonder. That trash yonder is Unsteady. Yelling, "Hooooooold on to me" in a very bad high pitch voice is not going to make the song a good one. Well, I think you know enough on Ahead Of Myself...

- Finally we have the worst of the three. Again, his voice sucks! In addition, saying, "try" multiple times in a stupid way is not going to give you a good song. Actually, now that I think about it, I didn't really like him in general. I imagined him before as a "Charlie Puth wannabe" and I can agree with that statement now!

Hitbound:

  • Bruno Mars - Chunky
  • P!NK - Beautiful Trauma
  • AJR/Rivers Cuomo - Sober Up (DEBUT)
  • Sofi Tukker - Best Friend
  • Walk The Moon - One Foot
  • Louis Tomlinson - Miss You (DEBUT)
  • Spencer - Whatever (DEBUT)
  • Wolves - Animal
  • Clean Bandit/Julia Michaels - I Miss You
  • Fall Out Boy - Hold Me Tight Or Don't
  • Macklemore/Kesha - Good Old Days
  • Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran/Future - End Game
  • Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes
  • Liam Payne - Bedroom Floor
- F*ck you AJR! Nobody likes you! Your album is trash! Everyone else can say the same! Why do you even still try? I am being serious...

- I don't know what to say about this. Not as good as Back To You, but overall, really solid.

- I am going to say this bold statement. This kid is Jacob Satorious 2.0, PERIOD. (At least he is better than him, A LITTLE BIT)

- Yes! I decided to reveal my opinion on End Game. I am not going to explain it though.

Top 5:
1. Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran/Future - End Game
2. Macklemore/Kesha - Good Old Days
3. Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes
4. Walk The Moon - One Foot
5. P!nk - Beautiful Trama

Thought I Was Ready, Ready For Blurbs:

Exits: All of them I didn't care about. Especially Heartless. That's What I Like stayed too long on the countdown, and Why was fading on me quickly. Heartless was the worst out of the three. If it stayed any longer, it would probably be orange. All three will not be missed!

- In the 40's we have importantly Despacito, Rain, Suicide Hotline, and Save Me A Place. Although I am sad to see half of these here, I would probably see Save Me A Place in pink if it stays for a month in the bottom. Rain is fading on me slowly and I don't see this making a recovery. Despacito should leave right now. The summer is over Hits1! Suicide Hotline I can see making a 10 spot jump in a few weeks.

- I am surprised that Shape Of You is still on here. At this point, you never hear the song on radio, and of you do, then it reminds of of the beginning of 2017. Wait a minute... Shape Of You has the potential to stay on the countdown for over a year! It's probably going to be 1-2 weeks short like Stressed Out

- My Bottom 5 is staying in the bottom half of the countdown. This is good, except for the fact that any of those songs can make a big jump into the top 20. It is a scary feeling...

- So... this is it. I have a lot to say to Hits1, but ill keep it short. Stop keeping unnecessary songs at #1. The statement, "The 45 biggest hits in North America" is a COMPLETE LIE. All I can see is an Ed Sheeran song that wasn't even that popular in the first place and songs that no one know. Now, you must think that I hate this countdown, but I don't. I realize now that actual people are voting for the #1 song. Not Hits1. The reason why I started this here is because I got triggered by Look What You Made Me Do dropping out of the top 20...

- Entering the top 20 is a underrated song and a song that I forgot about. I am completely fine with this. However, we have a song that jumped to #12 for some reason and another song that jumped to #18. Why these songs though. At least there not completely bad. Entering the top 10 is... oh... Love So Soft. Should have known...

- I want to clarify something that everyone will get triggered by. I heard the new Perfect remix with Beyonce in it. Let me just say something. IT SUCKS. Beyonce literally ruins the whole beautiful song. She just doesn't have the right voice to fit the song and she is singing like she is live or something. If Hits1 picks up on this version, It will be orange for me. I am not even joking. It is that bad.

- Entering the top 5 and hitting #1 is a overrated song. This is going to be like Theres Nothing Holdin' Me Back hitting #1 for too many weeks. Please don't hit #1 again and drop out of the top 10. I would definitely appreciate that. :)

Favorite Song One Year Ago: The Chainsmokers/Halsey - Closer

So, now the statement. I have two things to talk about and its up to you to decide. Don't worry, I am not leaving soon... but it is just to improve the posts and for you to understand better.

1. The first thing I would like to talk about certain songs. Some songs have cut artists (Usually Hip-Hop artists. Wait...not usually, ALWAYS) for certain reasons. So, they usually repeat a section or do something creative. That would be a radio edited song. What should I grade the song by. Radio edit OR my preference. I am currently doing my preference. Here's how it would change. Havana would be blue, Strip That Down would be the same but from the beginning would be blue, and other songs that left would change (Cold=blue, I'm The One=Blue). But, there is also remix's. How does this change? Here is one BIG example. Hymn For The Weeknd. Original=blue, SeeB remix=red. So, which one do you want me to do. Radio Edit OR My Preference.

2. The second thing I want to talk about is really important. I am thinking about changing my grading system ALOT. I want to add a color (Don't know which color) where it means that the song is amazing. By amazing I mean greater than green songs. These are the songs that stand out and I will never forget. What color should it be? (I'm thinking of dark purple...). But that's not it. It seems like the top 20 Review grading system is rigged. Well, this is for most people. A 5 should mean that I it a really good song, in other words, amazing (you know where I am going?). I might change the system to where only songs that are amazing can only be a "5:Great". I want your opinion on this idea that I have.

So, thats all. I really want your feedback on my two statements. This just helps me improve my posts and help you understand them better. Everything else is fine for my though. Anyways, Have a nice day!

*FUN FACT ABOUT ME* I hate it when people put up Christmas decorations literally one month before it even started. Please tell me I am not the only one...bye!...
