My Top 10 Songs of 2016

Welcome Back, this is my second post. As i said inn the previous post, i am going to share my top 10 songs of 2016. I will also include some honarable mentions. So anyways, lets start with number 10!

10. Zara Larsson/MNEK- Never Forget You
- Kicking off the list is a song that actually has lyrical content. The part I like most about the song is the lyrics. Its about that one friend you will never forget. The Chorus is the second best part of the song. I can go on for a while, so overall, the lyric and everything else in general is very nice.

9. Colplay/Beyonce- Hymn For The Weekend
- First, let me specify that i'm talking about the original. Yeah, the SeeB remix is good, but definitely not as good as the original. The remix is too fast, but the original is just right. Beyonce's voice at the end is a touch to end the song. Hits 1 played the SeeB remix which kind of infuriated me, but I got used to it. However, it was still not as good as the original. Recently I went to a Coldplay concert and man Chris Martin can sing live very well. Overall, the song is really good

8. Major Lazer/Justin Bieber/MO- Cold Water
- Yes, I kind of did a teaser about Cold Water being in the top 10, I wasn't Wrong! I already explained it in the last post, but i'll explain it again. Justin's voice is nice, and the production is great. MO does a really nice job with her voice and lyrics. Overall, its a nice song

7. Hailee Steinfeld/Grey/Zedd- Starving
- This is partially why Starving was still green. I love the production on the song and Hailee's voice is really nice. This song also never gets old for me, so thats the other reason why the song was still green, To conclude, its a nice sound and it just never gets old.

6. Drake/WizKid/Kyla- One Dance
- So, Hits 1 underrates this song by only letting it peak at #17, but on billboard it peaks at number one for 10 weeks, and it was #3 on the year end chart. That tells a lot about Hits 1. Anyways, Drake is going for a new approach and it worked. The song in general is really good, and overall, I just like the song a lot in general.

We are now moving in the top 5. These songs a lot and I will always like them no matter what.

5. The Chainsmokers/Daya- Dont Let Me Down
- When this first came out, I only thought it was good. But I grew into it a lot, and now its in my top 5 songs of 2016. I like the EDM from The Chainsmokers, and Daya's voice fits nice. I like the chorus a lot also. Overall, I feel like The Chainsmokers do a nice job with the EDM topped off with Daya's vocals, and the chorus is very nice.

4. Lukas Graham- 7 Years
- This is another song that has lyrical content, but this danish band decided to go further with the lyrical content. This song talks about life in general from 7 Years to 60 years. I think this is a very sweet song, and sadly this band can't come up with another hit. Yeah, Mama Said, and Your Not There were good, but they weren't hits, nor they were as good as 7 Years. I wish these guys can come up with a another good hit because they are really good. The vocals are on point and the lyrics go very good together. I'm waiting for another song Lukas Graham, dont let me down(Not a Chainsmokers reference).

3. Taylor Swift- New Romantics
- Some people can consider this a 2014 song, but the single itself came out in 2016, so I consider this both a 2014 and a 2016 song. Apparently, this song flopped during 2016, but did really good on the Weekend Countdown landing itself at #1 for not one, but two weeks at #1. I was really happy when it hit #1, but I was even happier when it hit #1 again. Taylor Swift voice is really good, especially in the separate verses. Now this is definitely not as good as Bad Blood, and Wildest Dreams, but I do consider this Song better than 22 and I Knew You Were Trouble. I should probably do my top 10 favorite Taylor Swift Songs. New Romantics definitely deserves this spot at #3.

2. The Chainsmokers/Rozes- Roses
- Were back with The Chainsmokers and this time there here with Rozes who I have never heard, but she sounds really good. The Drop reminds me of Something Just Like This, but when I first heard Something Just Like This, it reminded me of Roses. The Drop is amazing and the vocals are on point. The Chainsmokers have never let me down, and they continue to make really good music. Overall, The song is really good, the vocals are nice, and the EDM is spot on.

We are almost there! But first lets look at some honorable mentions of 2016

Honorable Mention 1: Twenty One Pilots- Ride
- In my Opinion, this is Twenty One Pilots second best song, first being Tear In My Heart. I like the vocals and the last part the best.

Honorable Mention 2: DJ Snake/Justin Bieber- Let Me Love You
- I love this song a lot, its just that its a little bit too short of a song, but overall its a song that makes you want to dance

Honorable Mention 3: Demi Lovato- Confident
- I like the meaning behind this song, and overall, her voice is strong and really nice especially in this song.

Honorable Mention 4: Justin Bieber- Love Yourself
So this song landed itself at #1 on the billboard year-end chart of 2016. Wow, I wasn't expecting that. This is definitely Justin's best song. Ed Sheeran was also behind this. No wonder why its so good

Honorable Mention 5: Flo Rida- My House
- Now this is a song I would jam out to. I love his voice in the chorus and the intro is really good. I would play this when i'm having a party

Honorable Mention 6: DJ Snake/Bipolar Sunshine- Middle
- The main reason its on here is because of that sick drop. One of the best drops of 2016.

Honorable Mention 7: Fifth Harmony/Fetty Wap- All In My Head (Flex)
- Back When Fifth Harmony were pretty good. Now there pretty bad with Down being a flop. And surprisingly Fetty Wap doesn't sound bad!

Now on to my number one song of 2016. Some of You might have already guessed it right, but some might be wrong. The number one is...

1. The Chainsmokers/Halsey- Closer
- First off, let me just say that all three Chainsmokers hits are in my top 5 and top 2! That just proves that i'm pretty much a Chainsmokers fan. The beginning sound makes you want to listen to it more. Keep in mind, this is Andrew Taggart's first time doing vocals on a song. And to be honest, he's actually really good. His vocals gets much better in Paris. For a first time vocalist thats really good. I mean he probably practiced before he recorded the song. Going back to the song, Taggart does the first verse really well, then the Chorus comes. This probably the second most memorable part of the song. And the the drop. That drop is better than DJ Snake/Bipolar Sunshine- Middle drop. I could consider the drop, the best drop of 2016. The drop sounds like kazoos but who cares if its kazoos or not. The drop is just good. Then Halsey sings the second verse. Halsey has one of the greatest female pop artist voice ever. Then the chorus, and the sick drop happen again. Finally Taggart finishes the third verse nicely, then it comes. Taggart says "We Ain't never getting older", then Halsey says the same thing. Then they alternating, and the tension builds. Then finally the sick drop happens, and then the song ends. That is the most memorable part of the song. The song just never gets old and more importantly, it will always be my favorite song of 2016.

So that concludes my top 10 songs of 2016. I'm thinking about doing a bottom 10 songs of 2016 so yeah.

Bye
:)
