1K Pageviews Special: Throwback Countdown

Hey Guys! First off, I would like to say thanks for 1000 pageviews! This might not seen a lot at first, but it's a start. Dont expect to get 1 million pageviews in one day because its not going to happen. Take your time, and don't rush posts to get more pageviews, you just get less.

Instead of doing a Q&A (since my audience is too little), I decided to do something, so that you get to know what old music I liked (Old meaning 2014-2016). I am going to review a older Weekend Coutdown (from 2014-2016). So I went to the random number generator and put from 1 to 156 and got 29. This meens its Week 29, July 26, 2014 [Sam Smith (1)]

So, here it is. Just as a note I will be using the Color Code (Overall) which you can find at the right sidebar.

NOTE: Some songs I have not heard so, I have to listen to them only once I will put up a disclaimer showing the one-listener songs.

*Means I never heard and are first listen opinions

**Means I forgot the song but remembered after I listened to it again

No Asterisk means I know the song very well

When I Met You In The Blurbs:

- Cher Lloyd is amazing. When I saw Sirens, I knew it was going to be good, and I was right.

- I remember those days when Katy Perry made good music, and wasn't promoting it as much as now. That was the good Katy Perry.

- I have not heard most of these guys...

- This year was Fall Out Boys year. Sadly, some songs are bad like Alone Together. Just don't like the vocals

- Meghan Trainor can NEVER make good music. I mean yeah, decent but NOT good. All About That Bass is kinda annoying, her voice is just SO bad. Her best song yet is... I guess Like I'm Gonna Lose You, but that was John Legend, and HE saved the song

- Saying "Done" many times, and emphasizing "We Are Done" is not going to make the song better...

- And we have the old John. Love it. His voice is just amazing especially in the chorus. Can we have this John Legend in his next song.

- Another X Ambassadors song. This one is pretty good, its just that the vocals can be a little bit better

- Now this Ghost is MUCH better than Ella Henderson's Ghost. One of Halsey's best songs. This is as good as Now Or Never

- Um... Is this even a song? There are so many things wrong with this song on so many levels. First off, it's AJR. I'm Not Famous, BAD, Weak, BAD, I'm Ready, BAD. Second, It is so infuriating when I have to hear "I'm Ready". Third, what are those lyrics? Are they even singing? There are so many questions I have for this song, and there all related to the song being bad.

- I remember Tiesto a litle bit. I just recognized his name. This song is pretty good, and I like the vocals and chorus a lot.

- Bastille has gone down after they made Pompeii. Good Grief was pretty bad. I don't these guys will have another hit.

- That chorus is amazing in Jealous (I Ain't With It)

- Oh My God! I did not realize that Girls Chase Boys was that song! Anyways, I remember I got sick of that song, but it got a little bit better.

- #25 has bad vocals, #24 (this is a 1/5) has a bad drop, and #23 has a guy singing in a horrible high pitch. I think that sums up those three songs...

- I love Coldplay! Probably my favorite band. I pretty much forgot this songs name. I really should have known. The drop is really good. I don't think this is as good as Hymn For The Weekend, but it is a very good song

- Disclosure is AMAZING with the EDM in this song. Sam Smith is once again, amazing with his vocals in this song.

- What happened with The Summer Set? I would expect them to be better in the earlier years. Firgue Me Out was SO much better than this. The voice is kinda ruining the song.

- OMG!! Why do I forget these awesome songs. This is a little bit better than Symphony. The background music is just so good.

- Besides Fall Out Boy, Imagine Dragons dominated 2013-2014, with Radioactive, Demons, and On Top Of The World. These three songs are much better than Believer, and Thunder

- Ariana Grande when she was part of Nickelodeon was Much better than her right now...

- Demi + Cher Lloyd = Awesome!!. Now I really don't know if Cool For The Summer is Demi's best song, because this might take the #1 spot.

- Old Maroon 5 > Adam Levine's New Maroon 5's band

- Calvin Harris was SO good from 2012-2014. This song is the best song of 2014. That may seem too much, but there are reasons. The DROP is amazing. The build up to the drop is amazing. Calvin's vocals are really good in the song. Overall, everything about this song is really good. The newer Calvin is pretty bad. This Is What You Came For is really bad, Slide and Feels are not amazing and are nothing compared to Summer. Calvin Harris, come back!!

- Never heard of Bleachers, but their only decent.

- Nico And Vinz are really only known for this amazing song. I Wanna Know failed to debut the countdown, but this went further. The vocals are the best part.

- 5 Seconds of Summer's best song yet! Love the vocals, and the chorus is the best part. Were not seeing to much from these guys. Hopefully they can come up with something that is like this song

- A lot of people hate this song, but i'm fine with this. Magic! is going to be a one-hit wonder, but most people don't realize. The vocals are fine in this song, and the chorus is great. His songs after this were pretty bad (i'm talking to you Red Dress).

- OneRepublic are not going to get as popular as they were before. This is definitely not their best, or top 10, but it is solid.

- Ahhh, I remember those times, when people kept on singing this song in my school. People still do it as of right now! This pretty much never gets old, and I understand that people got sick of it, but at that time, I wasn't into music as much (Which is why there are so many one-listener songs on here). Charli XCX, AND Iggy Azalea's best song to date.

- This I have heard in a lot of commercials, which is why I recognized it immediately. Not amazing, but great

- Finally, after all these blurbs, we have the #1 song. Sam Smith's peak was this time. Sam's best song definitely, and it definitely has competition (La La La). Don't know which is better, but for now it's this song. Deserves the #1 spot for sure.

Thoughts on 2014: 2014 was a amazing year! The music I listened to would be expected. A lot of my blurbs said that the drop of the song was amazing. 2014 definitely has the best drops of the year. Comparing to other years, MUCH better than 2016. Don't know about 2015 and 2017 but not as good as 2012, and 2010.

I will now rankdown each song from my favorite to least favorite:

1. Calvin Harris - Summer
2. Demi Lovato/Cher Lloyd - Really Don't Care
3. Disclosure/Sam Smith - Latch
4. Nico And Vinz - Am I Wrong
5. 5 Seconds Of Summer - She Looks So Perfect
6. John Legend - All Of Me
7. OneRepublic - Counting Stars
8. Coldplay - A Sky Full Of Stars
9. Sia - Chandelier
10. Halsey - Ghost
11. Katy Perry - Birthday
12. Imagine Dragons - On Top Of The World
13. Ariana Grande - Problem
14. Cher Lloyd - Sirens
15. Sam Smith - Stay With Me
16. Charli XCX/Iggy Azalea - Fancy

Biggest Drop: Louis Tomlinson/Bebe Rexha/Digital Farm Animals - Back To You (-14)

Biggest Jump: Cheat Codes/Demi Lovato - No Promises (+9)

Entrants:
-Hailee Steinfeld replaces herself with a worse song. What I mean by that is Let Me Go is not as good as Most Girls. However, I do like the song a lot. I do have one minor issue. I don't like Florida George Line's part.

-Rain is good. I really don't know what else to say. I have not heard of The Script before.

-Camila Cabello is back. I have grown into this song a little bit. Hits 1 apparently  cut out Young Thug, which I can understand. The problem is by doing that, when they try to replace with something else, the song just becomes worse. Examples are Strip That Down, Cold, Feels, Im The One, and Havana. I still don't know if I should grade it by how Hits 1 plays the song.

-Its about time! Taylor's soon to be single debuts in the top 20. I really shouldn't be so excited, since it's probably going to do bad on the countdown. Just look at how Hits 1 is treating Look What You Made Me Do. This is almost as good as Look What You Made Me Do. Taylor Swift pretty much never lets me down, and I am going to listen to her new album. I don't think it's going to be as good as 1989, but it will be great.

Hitbound:

  • Lauv - I Like Me Better
  • Zayn/Sia - Dusk Till Dawn
  • X Ambassadors - Ahead Of Myself (DEBUT)
  • Charlie Puth - How Long (DEBUT)
  • Ed Sheeran - Perfect
  • Post Malone/21 Savage - Rockstar
  • Niall Horan - Too Much To Ask
  • PrettyMuch - Would You Mind
  • Bebe Rexha/Florida George Line - Meant To Be
  • Nick Jonas - Find You (DEBUT)
  • Evaride - Hearless
  • Fergie/Nicki Minaj - You Already Know
  • Dua Lipa - New Rules
  • Why Dont We - Something Different
-I have been waiting for a new X Ambassadors song. This might not be as good as Renegades, but This is WAY better than Unsteady

-Charlie Puth is here with How Long. everything is good. The only problem I have is that after the chorus. Charlie sings "ooooo"(I cant spell it). I don't like that part at all.

-Nick Jonas, why? This is easily on the borderline between blue and red. I gave him the benefit of putting it in blue. He ruins the song, and him saying "try, try, try" is pretty annoying. Plus, the background music just doesn't fit in the song. Nick Jonas is not doing good. I cant think of a song by him that is an amazing, and memorable song.

- I feel lonely about my opinion on Heartless, but I don't care

Top 5:
1. Post Malone/21 Savage - Rockstar
2. Lauv - I Like Me Better
3. X Ambassadors - Ahead Of Myself
4. Fergie/Nicki Minaj - You Already Know
5. Zayn/Sia - Dusk Till Dawn

I Know I'm Gonna Be With You So I Take My Blurbs (Are You Ready For It?)

-Exits: Most Girls will definitely be missed. It has a good shot at my top 45 songs of 2017. Good Times and Versace On The Floor was getting worse, so i'm happy it left. Give Love leaves. Andy Grammer is not going to get a hit at this point.

- Back To You took a hard hit down into the bottom 5. This turned out to be not as much of a hit as I thought it would become

- Friends is just roaming in the bottom 15. Again, a nice try, but unsuccessful.

- Our last weeks debuts didn't do much. You would expect to have the biggest jump to be one of the last week debuts but no.

-L.A. Devotee is still here? The Album is so old, and only a couple of songs are great, but of course Hits 1 does not choose the great ones *cough* Emperors New Clothes *cough*

-Out of the three bad songs that entered the top 20, two left the top 20. Good start!

- No Promises bounces back into the top 20. You are always welcomed

- I have grown into the following songs: What About Us, Thunder, Glorious, and Too Good At Goodbyes

- The top 5 is slowly getting better, I guess... yeah not really...

3. Niall Horan - Slow Hands (#1) [3 Weeks at #1]
2. Ed Sheeran - Galway Girl (#4)
1. Liam Payne - Strip That Down (#7) [1st Week at #1]

#1 Song One Year Ago: The Chainsmokers/Halsey - Closer (1st Of 8 Weeks at #1)

Biggest Drop: Andy Grammer - Give Love (-16)

Biggest Jump: All-American Rejects - Sweat (+17)

Entrants:

-Why is pretty good. However, I have grown out of this song a little bit. Don't be surprised if it becomes blue...

-One of the most underrated songs in the blogging community debuts the countdown at #30. In my opinion, this is definitely not Selena's best song, but it's still a good one. I like the song without Gucci Mane, because he pretty much would put the song at blue. Overall, a really good song.

-I was waiting for this song to come. The reason why I like this song so much is because of the meaning, NOT the lyrics. People can definitely relate and Logic expresses that really well. Aleesia Cara and Khalid do a nice job too. With promoting a song for a good cause, comes Bad causes. People call the number because they think it's funny. ITS NOT! Please do not call the phone number, unless you actually have to. Anyways, the song keeps on growing on me.

Hitbound:

  • The Script - Rain
  • Taylor Swift - ...Ready For It?
  • Fergie/Nicki Minaj - You Already Know
  • Zayn/Sia - Dusk Till Dawn
  • Why Dont We - Something Different
  • Camila Cabello - Havana (DEBUT)
  • PrettyMuch - Would You Mind
  • Evaride - Heartless
  • Post Malone/21 Savage - Rockstar (DEBUT) [dont kill me...]
  • Bebe Rexha/Florida George Line - Meant To Be (DEBUT)
  • Dua Lipa - New Rules
  • Niall Horan - Too Much To Ask
  • Ed Sheeran - Perfect
  • Lauv - I Like Me Better

-Camila Cabello is back with Havana. This is definitely not as good as Bad Things, but it is still good.

-Let me explain... My school plays a ton of rap music, which means that I have grown into the genre. This explains it being purple...

-Meant To Be sounds like a Florida George Line song, not a Bebe Rexha song......

Top 5:
1. Post Malone/21 Savage - Rockstar
2. Taylor Swift - ...Ready For It?
3. Lauv - I Like Me Better
4. Bebe Rexha/Florida George Line - Meant To Be
5. Zayn/Sia - Dusk Till Dawn

I don't wanna blurb, I don't wanna blurb anymore (Not a sign that I'm leaving...)

- Our exits weren't that interesting. I'm kinda glad that Champion left. Honest was a flop. Will The Chainsmokers have another hit? Of course! They had more than 3 hits. Their not like Luis Fonsi, who is never going to get another hit, and will stay as a one hit wonder. Heavy left, which I am sad about. It has a weird run on the countdown. When you thought it was done, it got the biggest jump into The top 10! You will be missed Heavy...

- I am happy with Give Love having the biggest drop! And even more happy with Sam Hunt out of the top 20!

-So lets now talk the top 20...

-Love So Soft, Wish I Knew You, AND Sweat all entered the top 20...while What Lovers Do, No Promises, AND Stay left the top 20... This is just messed up...

-Taylor Swift is back to her debut spot...nice.

-So, we have a new and better top 2! Although I would reorder the top 5 to look like this
1. Sorry Not Sorry
2. Strip That Down
3. Galway Girl
4. Slow Hands
5. Theres Nothing Holdin' Me Back

-To conclude the countdown overall, everything that happened was bad EXCEPT for the #1 song, and biggest drop. I think a lot of people will agree that this was a really bad countdown...

New Entrants:
-Sorry Guys, but I cant just seem to like this song. I listened to this many times including on Americas Got Talent, but I still dont see why people like this song. Again, her voice literally ruins the song. Plus, I dont know what those lyrics are. Overall, every time I listen to this song, it gets worse.

-So, Zedd is back! I can consider this song good, but it is a weak follow up to Stay. Comparing the two songs, Stay is so much better. However, this is a pretty nice song, even though I dont like it as much as I did when I first heard it.

-I TOLD YOU! I knew it was going to come back! Anyways, it got worse for me. For me, this is not my type of jam. The chorus and verses just seem so bad, and it gets worse. I have never heard of these guys, but same with Sweat, I dont care about this song.

-So, we come to the best debut. I was waiting for this song and it is really good! I have really grown into this song. The background voices in the chorus is my favorite, It puts the nice touch into the song. However, This is not his best (Which in my opinion is Stay With Me, or La La La)

Hitbound:

  • Evaride - Heartless
  • Zayn/Sia - Dusk Till Dawn
  • Taylor Swift - ...Ready For It?
  • Sabrina Carpenter - Why
  • Fergie/Nicki Minaj - You Already Know (DEBUT)
  • Niall Horan - Too Much To Ask (DEBUT)
  • Selena Gomez - Fetish
  • Why Dont We - Something Different
  • The Script - Rain
  • Lauv - I Like Me Better (DEBUT)
  • Dua Lipa - New Rules
  • Ed Sheeran - Perfect
  • PrettyMuch - Would You Mind
  • Hailee Steinfeld/Aleeso/Florida George Line - Let Me Go
-I think this might be my biggest guilty pleasure. I wouldn't imagine me liking a Fergie song, period!

-Great! More Niall Horan...Hits 1 has to have all the One Direction they can have! Even worse, this song is pretty bad. Very bland, and Niall is going the same approach again, and again...

-Never heard of Lauv, but I want to hear more! I really like this song a lot. The chorus is just so amazing, and everything else is pretty good.

-So I just realized something... Why Dont We were featured in in The Fall Of Jake Paul. I don't want to point the obvious, but Logan Paul must have convinced them a ton...

Top 5:
1. Taylor Swift - ...Ready For It?
2. Lauv - I Like Me Better
3. Hailee Steinfeld/Aleeso/Florida George Line - Let Me Go
4. Fergie/Nicki Minaj - You Already Know
5. Selena Gomez - Fetish

I'm Way Too Good At Blurbs:

-I was kinda sad that Feels left, since it left us too early. After too long, Weak is Out! I was waiting for the moment to come. Not only that but Issues is also gone! Issues was so bad because it was funny. What I mean is that Julia Michaels was so bad and funny, plus the whole song is so bland and boring. But the laughter doesn't stop! When I saw Julia Michaels in her music video for Issues, She looked TOUGH! For that kind of voice, I was expecting her to be SKINNY! I am going to be honest, I don't think I will ever like any of her music. Issues was the worst song on the countdown from the start, and it ended up the worst from the end! Now we move on to my favorite song of 2016, Closer. This one hit me pretty hard. When Closer first debuted on Hitbound, I was questionable. After Don't Let Me Down was my favorite song on the countdown for a while, I thought this was not as good. However, when I started to hear the song more and more I started to like it a lot, and eventually become purple when it debuted the countdown. At that point, It was #1 on the Billboard, and I knew it was going to hit #1 on this countdown. When it hit #1 I was so happy! It hit a total of 8 Weeks on the countdown. Even after it started to drop, It was still my favorite song on the countdown. This is when I had two thoughts. the first one was that when will I start to like another song more than Closer? I waited until it was 2017! Then it got dethroned by In The Name Of Love. It got dethroned because I was growing into In The Name Of Love a lot, not because I was growing out of Closer. The Second thought I had was that Closer was definitely going to be my favorite song of 2016. As of right now, I am still loving the song. I have never gotten sick of the song ever. Evertime I hear the song, it just reminds me from the very beginning when I first heard the song...

-Not much to talk about in the bottom 20, other than Honest being a flop... Not the right choice Chainsmokers, should have gone with Young, Bloodstream, or My Type

- Wow, Despacito just jumps into the top 20. Honestly, I dont care about this song anymore. It can just hang out a bit I guess.

-Body Like A Back Road DROPPED! Now lets get it out of the top 20!

-Not even going to waste time on talking about #9, jumping more...

- So Praying enters the top 5! This is definitely not going to hit #1, along with Galway Girl, and Sorry Not Sorry.

-So, were back with the same songs for the last three weeks. All the countdowns that I posted were either "Niall Horan (#), or Shawn Mendes (#)". At this point it just worse...
